The Project

The Project Visit each of the ~175 bars on The List, and make brief Observations on each while at the bar, for complete immediacy.  Photos will be included whenever possible.  Almost all reporting will be done via iPhone. The Ground Rules The Project will commence March 11, 2010.  All bars on The List will be visited at least once from that date until the list is complete.  Bars I have been to in the past will be visited again; past experiences may be included in the Observations.  I am not a "professional" blogger, I will not alert bars to my visits in advance or during, I will not expect comps for my silly reporting.  I will, however, accept comps or buy-backs that are offered to me as a good patron. The Bars As detailed on The List, the focus is on venues that are bars first and foremost.  Bars that serve food are included, restaurants with bars are not.  Nor are music clubs (where live music is the primary focus), dance clubs, karaoke bars, hookah bars, etc.  The geographic region of The Project covers the East Village and the Lower East Side of Manhattan, roughly between 14th Street (north), Canal St. (south), 4th Ave/Bowery (west) and the East River (east, duh).  All bars will be mapped.  Bars that have been visited will be collected on the Visited List.  Bars I have yet to visit will remain on the Not Yet Visited List until visited. Feedback If you come across this blog and have any comments, feel free to post them below.  If you have any comments to add on any of the bars, please do likewise on the bar entry pages.  If you have any suggestions of places not on The List, please leave them below.

Get a life maybe? If I see you at my bar, I’m gonna smack that Iphone outa your hand and smash it.

I don’t see Milk & Honey on your list. Want the info?

Hmmm, tricky. Writing about a bar that’s sort of impossible for anyone reading this blog to visit seems a bit of a disservice, but I guess the real goal is to document as many as I can. Your call, I’d certainly stop by.

I’m enjoying the reviews, Alex. You need to add Marshall Stack (Allen & Rivington). I guarantee you’ll enjoy the place.

Thanks. I thought I had Marshall Stack on the list of places to visit? I may have it listed under “T” as The Marshall Stack? If not, I’ll add it.

A worthy blog for sure. Nice to know what I’m walking into before I get there. Pricing info would be helpful. I like cheap good beer.
